PERSONAL IMPROVEMENT: Memory checklist

(printable)

People often forget simple things - something they were supposed to buy at the store, a promise they made to someone, or an address. Use the list below to help improve your day to day memory.

  1. Pay close attention when learning something such as someones name
  2. Repeat out loud things you want to remember - names, addresses, things to buy, etc.
  3. Involve more than just listening. Incorporate all the senses you can
  4. Determine how you learn best and use it. i.e. Write things down if that is how you learn.
  5. Use acronyms to remember lists
  6. Exercise regularly, this helps your brain
  7. Reduce your stress, it allows you to focus more in life
  8. Always get a good sleep, especially before an event in life where you will have to memorize information
  9. Eliminate smoking, it decreases your ability to retain information
