(printable)Going to a job interview can be both exciting and nerve racking. Now is your time to shine and make a positive impact on your prospective employer. Utilize the following tips to give you the edge over all of the other candidates.
- Research the company before going to the interview
- Prepare and practice answers to common interview questions
- Dress slightly nicer than the typical dress code of the business
- Smile and be polite
- Maintain good eye contact
- Answer questions honestly and do not exaggerate
- Tell a story of how you helped a company become more efficient through your position
- Bring up an interesting fact about the company to show interest
- Be prepared to ask 2 or 3 questions about the company and open position
- Express your direct interest in the position
- Ask if there is anything unclear the interviewer would like to address
- Leave with a handshake and thank them for their time
- Follow up with a thank you letter within 2 days
